Danyal Hussain batted throughout the home side’s innings for an unbeaten 49, which included six 4s as they made their way to 120/6 from their 20 overs. He added 48 for the second wicket with Mohammad Imran (19) as they looked to put a good score on the board, but some disciplined bowling from Sam Atkinson (2/20) kept them in check.
Moddershall were in early trouble at 17/2, but 42 from Sam Kelsall with two 4s and two 6s looked to have steadied the ship. When he was dismissed, they fell to 92/5 with only 21 balls remaining, but Arjun Annamalia (22) off 21 balls and Aizaz Ahmed (20) off 12 balls got them over the line with 5 balls to spare as they booked their place at finals day.
Hem Heath vs Audley.

Freddie Doorbar batted throughout the visitors’ innings to make an unbeaten 59 from 49 balls with eight 4s and a six. He received support from Rob Hemmings, who made a 16-ball 25 that included two 4s and two 6s as they were bowled out for 143 in the final over. Bilawal Bhatti claimed 3/18 as he was the pick of the bowlers. He was supported by Tom Hodson, who finished with 2/12.
Liam Banks struck a fierce 63 from only 45 balls with three 4s and four 6s as he got the home side off to a flying start. Bhatti then chipped in with a 19-ball 30 that included a four and three 6s as they got closer to victory. A late collapse of 4/8 left the game in the balance before they finally got over the line with 5 balls to spare. Ali Hamza Waseem (2/24) and Ed Jones (2/26) did their best, but they couldn’t prevent the home side booking their place at finals day.
Leek vs Checkley.
Checkley won by 45 runs.
Nils Priestley struck a typically aggressive 18-ball 30 that included five 4s and a six as he got the innings off to a fast start. His opening partner, James Abbotts, made an impressive 53 from 37 balls that included four 4s and three 6s as they added 64 for the opening wicket in just 6.4 overs. There were further contributions all the way down the order, and they closed on 155/7 from their 20 overs. Rory Corden was the pick of the home side’s bowlers as he finished with 3/23. He got good support from Ross Dearden, who picked up 2/20 with his left-arm spin.
Alex Mellor made a brisk 16 before Matt Morris struck four boundaries in his 26 as Leek started their chase well. The introduction of Charlie Lewis into the attack for the visitors swung the game in their favour, though, as he claimed 3/16 to rip the heart out of the middle order. He was well supported by Jack Farrington, who took 3/14 as Checkley sealed their place at finals day with a comfortable victory.
Meakins beat Norton-in-Hales in the game I covered last night, joining the other 3 winners at what should be a blockbuster finals day.
