Eccleshall vs Audley.

Eccleshall beat Audley by 3 wickets.

Audley won the toss and elected to bat. Ali Hamza Waseem made 53, which contained nine 4s after Murvin Abinash had taken three early wickets for the home side. Rob Hemmings added 50 that included six 4s and a six before he was the last man out as Audley were bowled out for 179. Abinash finished with 3/29; he was supported by Muhammad Khan (3/47). Eranga Dissanagge also chipped in with two wickets as Eccleshall put themselves in a good position at the tea break.

Opener Ben Rogerson then made a run-a-ball 43, which contained seven 4s as they started their chase strongly. A top-order collapse then followed as they slid to 78/5 with Waseem taking three wickets with his left-arm spin. Jack Knapper (31) and Abinash (21) then added 48 for the 6th wicket as they wrestled back some momentum. It was then left to Chris Plant and Matthew Wright, who both made unbeaten scores of 27 to add an unbroken 45 for the 8th wicket and see their side to a narrow victory. Waseem finished with 3/46, and Ed Jones claimed 2/31, but it wasn’t enough for the visitors.

Meakins vs Newcastle & Hartshill.

Meakins won by 7 wickets.

Castle won the toss and elected to bat. Karl High quickly reduced them 7/3 with some excellent new-ball bowling. Only Ryan Hassett, who opened and was the last man out for a well-made 68 from 109 balls with nine 4s and a six, could do anything against the home side’s bowlers. High finished with 4/15 from 10 overs, and he was superbly supported by Jalat Khan, who finished with tremendous figures of 4/7 as they did the bulk of the damage.

Sam Moores made an unbeaten 31 with five 4s before Khan blasted a 16-ball 36* with four 4s and three 6s as the home side cruised to victory in just 15.4 overs.

Leek vs Porthill.

Leek won by 8 wickets.

Leek won the toss and elected to bowl. Tom Moulton and Rory Haydon quickly reduced the visitors to 37/7 as they were unplayable with the new ball. Porthill eventually limped to 60 all out with Moulton claiming superb figures of 6/26. Haydon finished with 2/18 as he returned to club action.

Hamaiz Mahmood made 27 at the top of the order for Leek, which contained four boundaries as he added 48 for the 1st wicket with Matt Morris, who finished unbeaten on 22*, also with four boundaries, as the home side claimed a crushing victory,

Longton vs Stone.

Stone won by 84 runs.

Stone won the toss and elected to bat. George Hawbrook made a 38-ball 46, which included four 4s and two 6s as he shared 97 for the 5th wicket with Daniel Lunn, who made 53 with ten boundaries as Stone recovered from a poor start. Nalin Priyadarshan claimed 4/39 and, with support from Matheesha Perera, who finished with 4/54, made sure there were no further partnerships as the visitors were bowled all out for 196.

Andrew Coxon made 25 at the top of the order for the home side before they collapsed from 59/2 to 112 all out as their struggles with the bat continue this summer. Alex Thorley was left unbeaten on 33, which contained one four and three 6s, but he received no support from his lower order. Warrick Fynn, Reid Taylor, Jack Harvey and James Cope all took two wickets each as the visitors claimed a comfortable victory.

Whitmore vs Checkley.

Checkley won by 7 wickets.

Whitmore won the toss and elected to bat. Not for the first time this season, they were simply blown away with the bat in hand. EJ Laverty took 5/37 and Sithembile Langa 4/38 as they were bowled all out for 82 in just 23.3 overs.

Michael Allen then made a 32-ball 46, which included nine boundaries as Checkley chased their target down in just 12.1 overs to secure a crushing victory.
