England watch week 5 – days 1 & 2.
This week’s England watch begins at the Utilita Bowl, where Hampshire won the toss and asked Glamorgan to bat. Asa Tribe made 45 before he fell victim to Kyle Abbott. The Hampshire bowlers toiled away as Glamorgan made 536/7 in their first innings. Sonny Baker bowled 27 tight overs, taking 1/83 in Glamorgan’s huge total.

NSSCCL Premier League round-up 2nd May 26.
Porthill beat Eccleshall by 97 runs. Porthill batted first and amassed 224/8 from their 45 overs. This was thanks to an unbeaten 97 from Matt Coxon, who struck thirteen 4s and one 6 in his innings that was compiled of 99 balls. Audley won the toss in changeable conditions at Stone and elected to bat. The wicket looked hard and had a good covering of grass on it, so hopefully there will be assistance for the bowlers. Audley won their home fixture against Longton by 2 wickets.Longton batted first and made 126 all out; no batter could get going in the Longton innings as the Audley bowlers bowled with accuracy and control.Opener Jacques Snyman made 26, which included 5 fours, before he was caught and bowled by Ali Hamza Waseem. The North Staffs and South Cheshire Cricket League has finally brought back win/lose/draw cricket to its lower leagues for the 2026 season.This is fantastic news in my opinion, it should have never been taken away. The 4th round of the county championship fixtures has now concluded. The weather has been fantastic. The pitches, however, have not. A tough day for Staffs cricket.
Staffordshire men’s white ball campaign got off to a losing start at West Bromwich Dartmouth CC today, where they were beaten by 105 runs by Norfolk. Staffs won the toss and elected to field, they made early inroads when Sam Arthurton was caught behind by the bowling of Jake Garlick for 9, leaving Norfolk 29/1.
