Leycett won by 107 runs.
Leycett won the toss and elected to bat. Tom Warburton’s unbeaten 105 was the mainstay of the home side’s innings. He faced 128 balls and struck fourteen fours. Dan Redfern made a run-a-ball 51 with seven fours and two sixes as the pair shared 62 for the 3rd wicket. The home side would pile up 249/9 from their 50 overs. Simon Read was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors as he bagged 3/43. Josh Reynolds and Jack Chell shared 4 wickets between them as they offered good support.
The Endon openers got their side off to the perfect start in response to their large target. Bilal Abbas made 51 from 59 balls with nine fours and a six. Brad Hulme struck 42 from 75 balls with seven fours as the pair added 110 for the 1st wicket. That was as good as it got for them though, as an almighty collapse ensued. They were bowled out for just 142, losing 10 wickets for just 32 runs. Isaac McDonald claimed 4/41 and Yohan Maddege bagged 3/15 to ensure the home side strode to a comfortable victory.
Porthill 2nd XI vs Oakamoor.
Oakamoor won by 112 runs.
Oakamoor won the toss and elected to bat. Tom Sherratt got the innings off to a fine start as he compiled 93 from 126 balls with fifteen fours and a six. He shared 134 for the 2nd wicket with James Smith, who made 60 from 89 balls, which included ten fours. Ahmed Khan then added a further 59 at better than a run-a-ball with nine fours and a six as the visitors piled up 2506 from their 50 overs. Esa Mohamed was the pick of the bowlers for the home side as he finished with 3/28. Tom Kesteven picked up two wickets, but they couldn’t prevent the visitors from racking up a huge score.
Joe Bridgewater made a patient 45 from 105 balls with four fours at the top of the order for the home side as they set about their huge total. Only Jake Plummer (25) and Harry Stubbs (28) made any further contributions as they were bowled out for just 138. James Jackson 3/38 and Callum Lowe 3/27 did the bulk of the damage for the visitors.
Sandyford vs Crewe.
Sandyford won by 50 runs.
Crewe won the toss and elected to bowl. Theo Sharman made 34 from 38 balls with 7 boundaries before Joe Warrilow added an unbeaten 36 with six fours and a six as the home side were bowled out for 172. Johnathan Bourne claimed 3/34, and Faisal Mahmood took 3/41 to restrict the home side.
Only Sam Youds, with 41 from 33 balls with nine fours, offered any resistance for the visitors as they were bundled out for 122 after the tea break. Gareth Kinsey bagged 3/21 before Matthew Taylor claimed 3/28. Kalhara Senarathne was the pick of the bowlers as he finished with 3/9 from 5 overs as the home side secured the points.
Silverdale vs Congleton.
Silverdale won by 44 runs.
Congleton won the toss and elected to bowl. Matt Baker made a patient 31 from 85 balls, which included five fours as the home side recovered from a poor start. Kasun Abeysinghe added a further 37 from 64 deliveries with seven fours before the home side were bowled out for 140. John Copeland was the pick of the Congleton bowlers, finishing with 4/30. Harry Podmore and Sean Cardell also shared 4 wickets between them.
Ed Evans made an unbeaten 36 from 79 balls with five fours, but that was the only score of note as the visitors were bowled out for just 96. Callum Harrison 3/29, Toby Degg 3/17 and Abeysinghe 3/25 all bowled superbly to defend the low score.
Stafford vs Cheadle 2nd XI.
Stafford won by 162 runs.
Stafford won the toss and elected to bat. Seth Jones made a brilliant 121* for the home side from 130 balls that included twenty fours as he got the innings off to a great start. Guy Seaton made 62 with nine boundaries as the pair shared 157 for the opening stand before Ashley Lunn added an 11-ball 25 with four fours and a six. The declaration came with the score on 244/4 after 45 overs. Jack Degg claimed two wickets for the visitors, but they were unable to stem the flow of runs.
Cheadle subsided to just 82 all out after the tea break as Stafford secured a comfortable victory. Joe Evans bowled superbly to finish with 5/29, and Himasha Liyange cleaned up the lower order to grab 3/6.
