Little Stoke won the toss and elected to bat. Karl Harvey anchored the visitors’ innings with 108 from 132 balls. He struck sixteen fours and two sixes in his fine knock. He shared 104 for the 7th wicket with Todd Talbot after they had been reduced to 122/6. Talbot finished unbeaten on 50 from 54 balls with seven fours as the visitors racked up 237/7 from their 50 overs. Jimmy Jinks, Harvey Lowe and Ben Mogg all took two wickets each for the home side.
Luke Cosford started the chase brightly for the home side. He made 44 from 62 balls with six fours and a six. He shared 119 for the 2nd wicket with Lewis Clarke, who made 56 with eleven boundaries as the home side set about chasing the total down. Lowe added 60 from 64 balls with seven fours and three sixes before Ryan Cheetham’s unbeaten 30 took them to victory with 6 overs to spare.
Hanford vs Eccleshall 2nd XI.
Eccleshall won by 6 wickets.
Hanford won the toss and elected to bat. The visitors made a fine start with the ball and early wickets from Deklan Binnington reduced the home side to 80/7. Dan Hall made 36, which included five boundaries, before Faizal Parvaiz blasted 115 from just 65 balls with six fours and an eye-watering 12 sixes from number 9 to get the home side up to 247 all out. Binninhton finished with 5/66 from 11 overs as he was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors.
Rhys Owens batted throughout the Eccleshall innings as he anchored the chase with an unbeaten 80 from 137 balls, which included eleven boundaries. Dave Ecclestone made 36 with seven fours as the pair shared 59 for the opening stand. Connor Beasley (42) then added 73 for the 3rd wicket with Owens as the visitors moved closer to victory. Beasley struck seven fours in his 58-ball knock before Zak Mosam rounded off the chase with 63* from just 48 balls with nine fours and a six as the visitors cruised to their target.
Moddershall 2nd XI vs Elworth 2nd XI.
Moddershall won by 1 wicket.
Elworth won the toss and elected to bat. Kieran Allsop made 50 at the top of the order with nine fours as the visitors made a good start. The Moddershall bowlers showed great discipline and began to chip away after Allsop’s dismissal, and Dave Housley took 4/17 from 10 overs as the visitors were bowled out for 144. Rob Bagnall claimed 3/29 from 11 overs as he gave great support.
Oliver Holdcroft made 34 with 5 boundaries for the home side, but their innings began to go the same way that the visitors had done. They lost wickets at regular intervals, but some lower-order resistance took them to the brink of victory before they lost 8 wickets with only 118 on the board. Sam Wright and Bagnall then added 21 before Wright perished, but the experienced Bagnall got his side over the line to secure a narrow victory. Oliver Bone, Devansh Trivedi, Maulik Bhalodiya and Sam Baldwin all took two wickets for the visitors, but they came up just short in the end.
Newcastle & Hartshill 2nd XI vs Meir Heath.
Newcastle & Hartshill won by 111 runs.
Newcastle & Hartshill won the toss and elected to bat. Ethan Gater made 41 at the top of the order for the home side, which included eight fours. Simon Wood then added 32 with six fours as the home side made a good start. James Hagan added a further 33, which included 6 boundaries, before they were bowled out for 216. Barney Britton was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors as he finished with 4/37. Muhammad Raja, Mohammed Mukhtar and Aqib Ali shared the other 6 wickets to fall.
Only Raja, who made 32 with seven boundaries, put up any resistance for the visitors with the bat as they were bundled out for just 105 in reply. Isaac McKeown bagged 4/23 to be the pick of the Castle Bowlers. Zak Twist and Ben Fullwood shared 4 wickets between them as the home side secured a comfortable victory.
Sandbach vs Blythe.
Blythe won by 8 wickets.
Sandbach won the toss and elected to bat. Jack Collett made a spirited 65 for the home side as they were bowled out for 133. His 86-ball innings included six fours and a six, but he received precious little support. Matt Rogerson was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors as he finished with 4/42 from 11 overs. Craig Grimley and Umair Mushtaq each took two wickets as they offered good support.
Grimley made 49, which included ten boundaries as he got the chase off to a fine start. Waseem Shah then made an unbeaten 46 from 86 balls with eight fours and six as he took his side to a crushing victory.
Wedgwood vs Meakins 2nd XI
Meakins won by 42 runs.
Meakins won the toss and elected to bat. Leon Pedley and Ade Lello quickly reduced the visitors to 27/5 before a spirited rear-guard action from Robbie Holmes (21), Tas Hussain (240 and Tom Fox (22) got the visitors up to 110 before they were bowled all out. Pedley finished with 3/30, and Lello grabbed 3/14 before Aaron Tymczuk claimed a further two wickets.
An excellent bowling effort from the visitors skittled Wedgwood for only 68 after the tea break. Zakariya Zaheer 3/27 and Hussain 3/0 were instrumental in instigating the collapse. Zain Ul Abidin and Alex Graham shared the other 4 wickets between them.
