Eccleshall won by 3 wickets.

Newcastle & Hartshill won the toss and elected to bat. Matthew Wright took two early wickets as Castle were reduced to 19/3 early on. Kasun Ekanayake then made a patient 28 from 72 balls with two 4s to help Castle recover to 70/4. The home side then took three wickets for no runs in 6 balls as Castle collapsed in a heap to 70/7. Harry Bailey smashed a 24-ball 32 with two 4s and three 6s as he decided the best form of defence was attack. He was the 9th wicket to fall with the score on 121 before Joe Thorne made an unbeaten 39 at number 10 with two 4s and two 6s as he added 41 for the last wicket with Theo Abel as Castle were bowled all out for 162. Eranga Dissanagge was the pick of the bowlers as he finished with 4/51. Matthew Wright claimed 3/31 as he offered fine support.

Tom Hibbert made a patient 44 from 106 balls at the top of the order for the home side. His innings contained eight 4s. Dissanagge made 28, which included four 4s as they edged Eccleshall towards their target. Hibbert was the 5th wicket to fall with the score on 114. Jack Knapper then added 21 before Dan Byatt, 17*, took them to a narrow victory. Mo Rameez finished with 4/39, but he couldn’t bowl his side to victory.

Leek vs Checkley.

Checkley won the toss and elected to bat. James Abbotts made a fine 100* for the visitors, which included nine boundaries as he helped them recover from 18/2. Abbotts faced 173 balls and batted for 205 minutes in a fine effort in sweltering conditions as he put his side in a strong position. Nils Priestley made 31, which included four 4s as he added 69 with Abbotts for the 4th wickets. Michael Allen then blasted an unbeaten 77 from just 49 balls with eight 4s and four 6s as Checkley closed on 243/4 from their 55 overs. Derbyshire’s Rory Haydon claimed 3/37 as he was the pick of the bowlers for the home side.

Matt Morris and Tom Moulton added 138 for the second wicket in just 30 overs as they looked to be putting Leek on course for victory. Moulton made 82 from 98 balls with fifteen 4s. Morris scored 81 from 116 balls with twelve 4s as he was the 3rd wicket to fall with 187 on the board in the 43rd over. Alex Mellor then added 27 before he was run out. Haydon made an unbeaten 19 as the game continued to hang in the balance. Leek required 9 for victory from the final over bowled by Priestley. They could only manage 6 as Priestley took 2 wickets in 2 balls as Leek fell agonisingly short of their total as they closed on 241/8 to give Checkley the winning draw. Priestley finished with 3/37 as he was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors.

Longton vs Audley.

Audley won by 129 runs.

Audley won the toss and elected to bat. Oliver Wilde made an excellent 85 at the top of the order for the visitors. His innings contained fifteen 4s as he added 136 with Ali Hamza Waseem for the 2nd wicket. Waseem struck 71 with nine boundaries as Audley began to take control of the game. Ash Rogers added a 37-ball 55* with four 4s and four 6s as Audley declared on 243/4 after 51 overs. Tom Hope claimed two wickets for the home side.

Early wickets from Alex Coates reduced Longton to 6/2 before Hope made 46 as wickets continued to fall around him. The left-hander struck seven 4s and a six before he was the 7th wicket to fall. Brodie Mack made 22 before Longton were bowled out for 114. Waseem picked up 3/17 with his left-arm spin, and Jack Redman claimed 3/42 with his off-spin. Coates and Ed Jones shared the other 4 wickets as Audley ran out comfortable victors.

Stone vs Hem Heath.

Hem Heath won by 50 runs.

Hem Heath won the toss and elected to bat. Ben Pugh made 37 with five 4s, and Dan Richardson 43 with six 4s and a six as they added 79 for the 3rd wicket. Greg Prime then struck 33 with five 4s as the visitors were bowled out for 171. Jack Harvey took 4/29, and he was well supported by Reid Taylor, who bagged 3/26.

Sam Graham made 28 at the top of the order for Stone, but he was one of 6 wickets for left-arm seamer Ben Topley as Stone collapsed to 55/5. Ed Batchelor made 31 with four 4s before he became one of Richardson’s 4 wickets as Stone were bowled out for 121. Topley finished with great figures of 6/22 while Richardson bagged 4/6 as they secured a comfortable victory for Hem Heath.

Whitmore vs Moddershall.

Moddershall won by 5 wickets.

Whitmore won the toss and elected to bat. Ryan Roberts made a 26-ball 29 at the top of the order for the home side. His innings contained six 4s as he got them off to a flying start. Wickets began to clatter before Muhammed Imran made 32 to steady the ship. Bilal Hussain added 25 at number nine before they were bowled out for 139. Danushka Sandaruwan claimed 4/12 with his probing left-arm spin. He was well backed up by Joe Hawkins as his off-spin claimed 3/13 as spin was taking hold of the game.

Three early wickets from Imran reduced the visitors to 29/4 before Sam Kelsall and Callum Hawkins added 77 for the 5th wicket. Hawkins made a patient 29 from 52 balls with three 4s before Kelsall finished with an unbeaten 70 from 123 balls with ten 4s as he got his side over the line. He added an unbeaten 34 with Sam Atkinson (16*) for the 6th wicket to close out a comfortable victory for the visitors. Imran finished with 3/55, but it was not enough in the end.
