Ashcombe Park won the toss and elected to bowl. Russ Ballard gave the visitors a good start with a steady 34, which contained seven boundaries, before Joe Stephenson added 43 with six fours. Chirag Khurana then got to work with the ball for the home side. He ran through the Elworth middle order to finish with impressive figures of 5/22 from 13 overs as Elworth subsided to just 138 all out.
Batting was no easier in the second innings, and Jarrod McKay was quickly into his work. He claimed three top-order scalps to finish with 3/27 from 9 overs, before Harry Newton finished the home side off with 4/13 as they could only muster 75 before they were bowled all out.
Barlaston vs Rode Park & Lawton.
Barlaston won by 8 wickets.
Barlaston won the toss and elected to bowl. Sam Marshall got the visitors off to a fast start with 34 from 45 balls with five fours and a six as he added 47 for the opening wicket with Richard Bebbington. Bebbington went on to make a patient 38 with five boundaries after he lost his opening partner. Oliver Gallimore added 58* with seven boundaries before Will Valentine made a 51-ball 68 with nine fours and three sixes as the pair shared 95* for the 6th wicket as Rode Park closed on 231/5 from their 55 overs. Fida Hussain claimed 3/28 from 13 overs of tight off-spin to be the pick of the bowlers for the home side.
Edward Seabridge made 52 with nine boundaries after Barlaston lost an early wicket. He shared 76 with Brian Sims for the 2nd wicket as the home side went about chasing their large total down. Sims went on to compile an excellent unbeaten 96, which contained fourteen fours and a six, as he and Ben Sharp, with an unbeaten 51 with four fours and a six, added an unbeaten 121 to take Barlaston to victory with 27 balls to spare.
Norton-In-Hales vs Alsager.

Alsager won the toss and elected to bat. Jack Furnival took two early wickets to reduce the visitors to 55/4. Kashif Bhatti then made a composed 50 with six fours and two sixes as he began to rebuild the innings. He added 77 with Waqas Hussain (30) for the 5th wicket. Hussain struck two fours and three sixes in his knock. Tom Bason added a late 45-ball 51 with six fours and two sixes before Alsager were bowled out for 204. Furival returned fine figures of 4/27 as he was the pick of the bowlers for the home side. Eddie Warrington and Charlie Belfield also shared 4 wickets between them.
Salman Khan made 53 with four boundaries after the home side had been reduced to 6/2. Isaac Foster added 33 with seven fours as the rebuilding effort continued. Chris Dyer made 31, including two fours and a six, adding 74 for the 7th wicket with Sajith Lama Hewage, as Norton-In-Hales began to close in on victory. Tom Bason continued to chip away at the home side’s batting order, and finished with 4/47. Still, it wasn’t enough, and Lama Hewage took the home side over the winning line with an unbeaten 52 that contained eight fours as they completed a narrow victory.
Stone 2nd XI vs Knypersley.

Stone won the toss and elected to bowl. Shoaib Akhtar compiled a solid 65 at the top of the order for the visitors. His innings included nine fours as they started well. Ahsan Hafeez Bhatti then added a 57-ball 71 with five fours and five sixes before Paul Goodwin made a run-a-ball 30 with four fours and a six as Knypersley closed on 266/6 from their 55 overs. Mikey Parker and Chanaka Ekanayake shared four wickets between them for the home side.
Stone opener Harry Cheadle made a fine 73 with eleven fours. He shared 84 for the 2nd wicket with Richard Harvey, who made 45 with seven boundaries as the home side recovered from losing a wicket in the 1st over of their reply. Geeth Kumara’s run-a-ball 87* with eleven fours and a six was instrumental in Stone’s push towards the victory line. Dom Cumberbatch continued to chip away at their batting line-up, but his 5/60 from 13 overs wasn’t enough for the visitors as Stone got home in the final over.
Wood Lane vs Hem Heath 2nd XI.

Hem Heath won the toss and elected to bowl. Jake Thompson made a patient 69 at the top of the order for the home side. He struck 14 fours in his 110-ball stay at the crease. Martin Dawson made a run-a-ball 35 with seven fours and a six as he shared 45 for the opening wicket with Thompson. Tom Boundy added 54 with five fours and three sixes before Ben McGuire blasted a 27-ball 40 with two fours and four sixes as Wood Lane looked on course for a big total. Zaighum Abbas smashed a late 33 from 20 balls with four fours and a six before Wood Lane declared on a mammoth 303/8. Ben Lucas, Shailesh Khune and Roshan Wijenayake all claimed two wickets each for the visitors.
Jack Jones made 58 at the top of the order for Hem Heath as they recovered from losing an early wicket. His innings contained eleven fours and a six. Wijenayake struck a sublime 102 with seventeen fours and a six as he settled in for the long haul. He shared 90 with Jones for the 2nd wicket as the visitors went about saving the game. He found another partner in Lucas, with whom he shared 68 for the 5th wicket. Lucas made a 27-ball 37 with four fours and six before his side finished on 272/8 from their 55 overs to secure a draw. Abbas took 3/31 from 10 overs as he was the pick of the bowlers for the home side as they tried desperately to bowl their visitors out. Billy Jones and Richard Hassall shared 4 wickets, but both sides had to settle for a share of the points.
