Alsager won the toss and elected to bat. Sean Price made 34 at the top of the order for Alsager with two fours and two sixes as they recovered from the early wicket of Sam Goodwin. Kashif Bhatti then struck a 73-ball 75 with nine fours and two sixes, which formed the backbone of the home side’s 208 all out. Jack Davies (3/38) and Ethan Squire (3/44) were both excellent with the ball for Barlaston.
Joe Beeston made 29 at the top for Barlaston with four fours, but they were soon in trouble at 45/3. Fida Hussain then made a patient 40 from 80 balls with two fours and a six as he began a rebuilding effort with Rory Jones, who made 31 with three fours and a six as they shared 70 for the 5th wicket. Wickets began to tumble when the partnership was broken, and even a late effort from Sam Wilson, who made an unbeaten 38 with two fours and two sixes, wasn’t enough to get his side over the line as they closed on 190/9 from their 45 overs. Waqas Hussain claimed 3/32 from 9 overs as he was the pick of the bowlers for the home side.
Bagnall Norton vs Wood Lane.
Bagnall Norton won by 8 runs.
Wood Lane won the toss and elected to bowl. Matthew Arnold made a patient 37 from 72 with four fours at the top of the order for the home side. Wickets began to fall regularly, and Bagnall Norton were in danger at 144/8 before Charles Worthington made a very important 47* from 39 balls with five fours and two sixes as he added 47 with Alex Dodd for the 9th wicket and an unbeaten 25 with Cian Gibson for the last wicket as they closed on 216/9 from their 45 overs. Richard Hassall and Codie Knight both claimed two wickets each for the visitors.
Louis Kidd made a steady 55 from 87 balls with five fours and a six as Wood Lane set about chasing their total after tea. Hassall added a run-a-ball 50 with four fours and three sixes as the pair shared 94 for the 5th wicket to put their side in a strong position at 183/5. Disaster then struck for Wood Lane as their lower order collapsed and they were bowled out for 208 in the 44th over. Hafiz Suleman was the pick of the bowlers for Bagnall Norton, claiming 3/25 from 9 overs. Alex Dodd snared 3/41 to offer fine support as the home side claimed a narrow victory.
Cheadle vs Stone 2nd XI.
Cheadle won by 70 runs.
Stone won the toss and elected to bowl. Ali Khan struck a sublime 77 from 83 balls with seven fours and six, forming the backbone of the home side’s 244/8 from their 45 overs. Alfie Bonehill added 38 with seven boundaries, sharing 87 with Khan for the 3rd wicket. Ryan Elwell then made 32 with three fours before the close. Isaac Rowley claimed 3/64 from 9 overs, being the pick of the bowlers for the visitors. Thomas Caton and Chanaka Ekanayake also took 4 wickets between them.
Harry Cheadle made 47 with four fours at the top of the order for Stone after the tea break, but some fine bowling once again from Will Dobbie had them in trouble at 109/9 before Ekanayake made 32 with five boundaries and Mikey Parker added a late 30 with three fours and six to drag Stone up to 174 before they were bowled out in the 44th over. Dobbie finished with 5/39 from 9 overs, showing his class once again this summer. Ryan Harvey offered good support with 3/19 from 8 overs as Cheadle completed a comfortable victory.
Hem Heath 2nd XI vs Elworth.
Elworth won by 140 runs.

Alex Banks made 31 with four fours to get his side off to a good start. Araash Raheja then anchored the innings with 69 from 86 balls, with eight fours and a six, sharing 67 with Banks for the 2nd wicket. Harry Newton made a late 29 with two fours before Elworth were bowled out off the final ball of the innings for 239. They were also helped by Hem Heath conceding an eye-watering 42 extras throughout their innings. Ben Lucas and Saj Patel shared 4 wickets between them in the first innings.
Lucas made 20 with the bat after the tea break, but Hem Heath were blown away for just 99. Banks claimed 3/26 from 9 overs, leading the way with the new ball. Newton then finished with impressive figures of 3/5 as he mopped up the lower order to complete a dominant victory.
Knypersley vs Rode Park & Lawton.
Knypersley won by 5 wickets.
Rode Park & Lawton won the toss and elected to bat. Lee Evans made 47 from 66 balls with seven fours before the visitors collapsed from 100/3 to 115 all out. Ahsan Hafeez Bhatti claimed a hat trick as he ripped through the lower order to finish with impressive figures of 4/11 from 7 overs. Jacob and Dom Cumberbatch also shared 4 wickets to complete the collapse.
Dom Cumberbatch then made 36 with five fours, getting the home side off to a good start after the tea break. 35 extras from Rode Park saw Knypersley to a comfortable victory in the 26th over after a slight wobble with the winning line in sight.
Norton-In-Hales vs Ashcombe Park.
Ashcombe won by 84 runs.
Norton-In-Hales won the toss and elected to bat. Kamran Abbasi made a 70-ball 63 with seven fours and three sixes as the visitors started well. Chirag Khurana added 44 with six fours and a six, sharing 100 with Abbasi for the 2nd wicket. Jack Furnival then got to work with the ball, taking 4/44 from 9 overs as the visitors collapsed to 183 all out. Charlie Belfield and Sajith Lama Hewage claimed two wickets each as they offered good support.
Nathan Ball was superb with the new ball after the tea break for Ashcombe Park. He claimed superb figures of 5/29 from 9 overs as Norton-In-Hales were bundled out for just 99. Max Hill’s off-spin claimed 3/17 to complete a comfortable victory for the visitors.
TCD’s league summary: it’s as you were at the top of the league with wins for Bagnall Norton, Cheadle and Elworth as they continue to vie for promotion. Rode Park’s defeat leaves them 46 points from safety with only 4 games left to save themselves. Stone sit 12 points above Hem Heath in 10th position as their battle to avoid relegation continues.
