Audley vs Checkley.

Checkley won by 7 wickets.

Audley won the toss and elected to bat first at Kent Hills. Oliver Wilde made 33 at the top of the order for Audley as he added 55 with Freddie Doorbar before he was bowled by Nils Priestley to end a promising opening stand. Doorbar went on to make 47 before he was the 4th wicket to fall with the score on 102. Late runs from Rob Hemmings 23 and Ed Jones 26* took Audley to 178/8 from their 45 over allocation. EJ Laverty, Nils Priestley and Jack Farrington all took 2 wickets each as Checkley did well to restrict the Audley batters.

Checkley opener James Abbotts made 59 from 64 balls, an innings that included eight boundaries and one six as he got Checkley off to a good start. James Kettleborough made 68 from 76 balls as he added 100 with Abbotts for the second wicket, as his good league form continues. His innings contained nine boundaries as he was the third wicket to fall when his side only required a further six runs for victory. Elliot Boardwell saw them home to a seven-wicket victory with an unbeaten 22.

Eccleshall vs Leek.

Leek won by 8 wickets.

Eccleshall won the toss and elected to bat at the Roy Thomson Memorial Ground. Eccleshall were reduced to 28/2 before Myles Coughlan made a run-a-ball 27 as he added 38 with Chris Plant for the 3rd wicket before he was dismissed with the score on 66. Plant fell shortly after for a battling 28 off 63 balls. Eccleshall then lost their final six wickets for just seven runs as they collapsed to 111 all out in the 35th over. Matthew Morris was the instigator of the collapse and finished with figures of 4/22 from 8 overs. He was supported by Rory Corden, who finished with 3/10 from 4.2 overs.

After losing Hamaiz Mahmood early, Morris added 75 with Tom Moulton for the second wicket before Moulton was dismissed for 35. Morris finished unbeaten on 48, which included 5 boundaries, as Leek secured a comfortable victory with 22 overs to spare.

Meakins vs Hem Heath.

Hem Heath won by 129 runs.

Hem Heath won the toss and elected to bat at Ivy House Road. Liam Banks made 30 at the top of the order, but Meakins had reduced Hem Heath to 83/5 in at the end of the 16th over. Simon Mugava had claimed 3/39 to put his side in a good position before Bilawal Bhatti made 93 from just 70 balls as he went on the attack. He struck six boundaries and blasted seven maximums as he powered his side to 232/9 from their 45 overs. Karl High claimed 3/57, but he couldn’t put the brakes on the Hem Heath scoring.

Dan Richardson then took 3 early wickets for Hem Heath as Meakins were reduced to 37/4 in the 14th over, as their reply failed to get going. Pete Wilshaw made a run-a-ball 33, but he could do nothing against the accurate Hem Heath bowling line-up as Meakins were bowled out for 103 in the 30th over. Richardson finished with 3/15, and he was well supported by Tom Hodson, who claimed 3/8 to secure a comfortable victory.

Newcastle and Hartshill vs Porthill.

Porthill won by 7 wickets.

Castle won the toss and chose to bat at the Potteries Oval. They made a terrible start when they were reduced to 9/3 in the 6th over. Kasun Ekanayaka then made a patient 61 as he attempted to rebuild the Castle innings once again this season. He received support from Harry Bailey, who made a 20-ball 31 as he went on the attack. Joe Thorne then made 29 at number ten as Castle were bowled out for 177 with 7 balls remaining of their allocation. Matt Coxon finished with 3/33, as he was once again excellent with the new ball. John Hancock also claimed 3/30 to give his side a chance of victory.

Tom Steele and Hancock were dismissed early in the chase as the Castle bowlers began well. That was as good as it was to get for them, though, as Tom Longworth and Lakshitha Manasinghe, 49, added 110 for the 3rd wicket to snuff out any chance of a home victory. Longworth made an unbeaten 71 from 121 balls to secure a comfortable victory.

Stone vs Moddershall.

Moddershall won by 119 runs.

Moddersahll won the toss and elected to bat. They started well when Sam Kelsall, 47 and Muaaz Ahmed added 100 for the first wicket. Kelsall struck five boundaries and a six before he was run out to end the partnership. Ahmed then added 73 with Joe Hawkins as Moddershall looked set to run up a huge total. Ahmed went to a well-deserved 100 from 112 balls with twelve 4’s and one six. He was finally removed for 103 as Moddershall couldn’t build on their good start, and they closed on 228/8 from their 45 overs. Warrick Fynn, James Cope and Jack Harvey all took 2 wickets each as the Stone bowlers pulled it back well.

Stone’s reply started poorly when they were reduced to 50/7. Sam Atkinson took 3 early wickets as he ripped the heart out of the Stone top order. Danushka Sandaruwan then picked up where Atkinson left off. He claimed 3/11 to remove the middle order and leave the Stone innings in ruins. Warrick Fynn made a battling 56* as his team were bowled out for just 109 with 8 overs remaining. Joe Walley also grabbed two wickets as Moddershall secured a crushing victory.
